Carolina Hurricanes v Montreal Canadiens 

2-1 

Victor Rask opened the scoring with his first goal of the season. Trevor Van Riemsdyk scored the Canes’ second on his 100th appearance for the Carolina Hurricanes. Curtis McElhinney was by far their best player, making 48 saves on 49 shots.

San Jose Sharks v Buffalo Sabres 

2-3 (OT)

San Jose battled back to take the game to overtime. Jeff Skinner helped Buffalo top the Sharks with the game winner, giving the Sabres their record-tying 10th win in a row.

Ottawa Senators v Philadelphia Flyers

4-3 

Ottawa’s victory was hard fought for. They spent the majority of the game 3-1 down, until the second half of the third period.

Anaheim Ducks v Tampa Bay Lightning

3-1 

The Ducks’ special teams helped rally them past Tampa Bay for the victory, scoring on the power play and coming up with a fantastic 5-on-3 penalty kill. Nick Ritchie and Carter Rowney scored 48 seconds apart to secure the win for Anaheim.

Colorado Avalanche v Nashville Predators

3-2 

The Avalanche had their Dad/Mentor trip and it couldn’t have ended better for them. They went 2-for-2 on the power play and Semyon Varlamov made 35 saves to help secure their fifth consecutive victory.

Arizona Coyotes v Minnesota Wild

Arizona scored three unanswered goals in the third period, leading them to a comeback victory over Minnesota.

Pittsburgh Penguins v Winnipeg Jets

4-3 

The Pittsburgh Penguins battled back to claim victory on the road with a 4-3 win over the Jets with goals from Crosby, Sheahan, Grant and Aston-Reese.

Vegas Golden Knights v Chicago Blackhawks

It was goal central in Chicago, with 11 scored in the game. Dylan Strome scored his first goal for the Blackhawks just two days after being traded from Arizona.

Dallas Stars v Edmonton Oilers

0-1 (OT)

Neither team could produce a goal in the 60 minutes of regular hockey. Oscar Klefbom won the game for the Oilers with just over two and half minutes left in overtime. Leon Draisaitl‘s assist means he’s now tied with Connor McDavid for the most overtime points (13) in the NHL since 2016.

LA Kings v Vancouver Canucks

2-1 (OT) 

Vancouver scored the game-tying goal with just four minutes remaining in the third period to force overtime against the LA. Dustin Brown came to the Kings’ rescue once again with the game-winning goal, just 53 seconds into the extra period of play.
