Victor Rask opened the scoring with his first goal of the season. Trevor Van Riemsdyk scored the Canes’ second on his 100th appearance for the Carolina Hurricanes. Curtis McElhinney was by far their best player, making 48 saves on 49 shots.

The Ducks’ special teams helped rally them past Tampa Bay for the victory, scoring on the power play and coming up with a fantastic 5-on-3 penalty kill. Nick Ritchie and Carter Rowney scored 48 seconds apart to secure the win for Anaheim.

The Avalanche had their Dad/Mentor trip and it couldn’t have ended better for them. They went 2-for-2 on the power play and Semyon Varlamov made 35 saves to help secure their fifth consecutive victory.

Neither team could produce a goal in the 60 minutes of regular hockey. Oscar Klefbom won the game for the Oilers with just over two and half minutes left in overtime. Leon Draisaitl‘s assist means he’s now tied with Connor McDavid for the most overtime points (13) in the NHL since 2016.
