Erik Karlsson made his first return to Ottawa since being traded to the Sharks back in September, it did not end well for him or San Jose. The defenseman did get a standing ovation from the Senators’ fans upon his return.

Nazem Kadri scored the tiebreaker with 3:20 left in the third period for the Leafs to help lift them to a 5-3 win over the Minnesota Wild. Zach Hyman scored an empty netter to give them a well deserved cushion.
Toronto have won 10 of their first 13 road games to begin a season for the first time in franchise history.

The Boston Bruins fell at home to the Detroit Red Wings, ending the visitors’ nine-game losing streak. It was the first time they’d won at TD Gardens for the first time in five years, a lot of the praise should be bestowed upon Jimmy Howard, who made 38 saves and Gustav Nyquist who finished with 3pts (1G, 2A).

Mark Scheifele scored in overtime to lift the Jets past the Devils. It was his second of the game and came with just 17 seconds left on the clock.
