Martin Jones had a great game in net for the Sharks making 39 saves on 40 shots. Timo Meier was another with a brilliant performance, finishing the game with a goal and two assists.
The Canes had to spend the latter half of the final period without Jordan Staal, who came into the game ranked 5th in the NHL in face-off wins (57.5%). He went to the locker room in the commercial break with an upper body concern and did not return.

The Blackhawks gave fans hope when they came from behind to level things at 2-2 heading in to the third, goals from Ondrej Kase and Jakob Silfverberg in the final period however, secured yet another win for the Ducks, their fifth in a row and another defeat for the Blackhawks.
