Carolina Hurricanes v Montreal Canadiens

The Hurricanes battled from 4-2 down but their comeback was too late and anytime they’d score, they would concede almost immediately. Carolina had plenty of opportunities to level things when it was 5-4, but Carey Price kept his team in the game, as did Jeff Petry with his empty netter.

Andrei Vasilevskiy made 48 saves to help his team secure their eighth victory in a row.

Edmonton came back from 3-1 down to make it 4-3 Oilers which stood right up until Mark Scheifele‘s equalizer nine minutes from time, taking it to overtime. The Kitchener, Ontario native then set up Josh Morrissey for the overtime winner.

Martin Jones made 20 saves whilst Timo Meier scored twice to help the Sharks defeat the Stars by the same scoreline that they lost to in Dallas last week.
Tyler Seguin got his 19th assist of the season and Jamie Benn his 13th for the Stars. Logan Couture had his 22nd assist of the campaign on Meier‘s second of the night.
Stats were pretty much evenly matched across the board, with both teams winning 50% of their face-offs.
