Washington Capitals v Carolina Hurricanes 

6-5 (SO)  

Alex Ovechkin scored his second hat trick in as many games. Nic Dowd and John Carlson had three assists for the Caps, who trailed by three but won their fourth in a row through the shootout.

The Canes may have let a 4-1 lead slip but they recovered well when facing a 5-4 deficit with just over 11 minutes left. Justin Williams scored the equalizer 13:48 into the third to send the game to overtime and eventually penalties.

Vegas Golden Knights v New Jersey Devils 

4-5 (OT) 

The Devils rallied from a pair of three-goal deficits to take a 5-4 overtime win against Vegas. The OT winner was scored by Nico Hischier just 41 seconds in.

Arizona Coyotes v New York Rangers 

4-3 (OT) 

The Coyotes ended their nine-game losing streak to the Rangers. Derek Stepan scored the winner with just 32 seconds remaining in overtime, to give Arizona the comeback win.

The Pittsburgh Penguins recovered to end the Bruins win streak at three. Casey DeSmith made 48 saves for the Pens.

Chris Tierney scored twice in the Sens’ win over the Red Wings. Mark Stone broke the tied in the third period for the Canadian team, who had lost four of their last five.

Ryan O’Reilly scored a shorthander to lift the Blues past Colorado in overtime, whilst the Avs’ Mikko Rantanen extended his point streak to 13 games.

Mark Scheifele is on fire this season, his overtime winner was his second goal of the game and 20th of the season. He also got his 23rd assist of this campaign on Mathieu Perreault‘s goal.

Connor McDavid scored twice and had an assist in Edmonton’s win over the Flyers. Leon Draisaitl had a hat trick of assists, whilst goaltender Mikko Koskinen made 31 saves to accumulate a 7-0-0 record at Rogers Place this season.
