The Pens came from a goal behind at the Capital One Arena to win 2-1.
It was a special game, as it always is between these two teams, however it was the Pens out for revenge tonight after the Caps ended their hopes of a third successive Stanley Cup last season.
Lars Eller scored from a Tom Wilson pass to put the hosts ahead, before Sid Crosby scored his 16th of the season and recored his 22nd assist on Bryan Rust‘s winner.
Alex Ovechkin‘s point streak was ended by Pittsburgh last night. The Russian didn’t score for the first time in seven games and didn’t register a point for the first time in 15.

It was a big night for Colorado’s star players. Nathan Mackinnon registered his 33rd and 34th assists in the league this season, Gabriel Landeskog scored his 23rd this year and Mikko Rantanen netted his 16th and assisted his 42nd of the season.
Philip Grubauer saved 35 of 36 shots faced in net for the Avs, whilst Carey Price stopped 24 of 26 shots for the Habs.
