Detroit Red Wings v Carolina Hurricanes

4-1 

Niklas Kronwall helped the Red Wings top the Carolina Hurricanes, opening the scoring at the PNC Arena and playing a role in ending his team’s four-game losing streak.

Dylan Larkin scored an empty netter to extend his point streak to nine games, whilst Jonathan Bernier made 38 saves between the pipes.

Despite the loss, the Canes won nearly every statistical category – they won 54.9% of face-offs, had 39 shots on goal to Detroit’s 24 and registered two more hits.

Anaheim Ducks v Boston Bruins

David Pastrnak recorded 3pts (1g, 2a) for Boston against the Anaheim Ducks. Meanwhile Jaroslav Halak made 24 saves for the home side, who hadn’t defeated the Ducks since October 31st, 2013.

The Bruins are 5-2-0 in their past seven games and have outscored their opponents 7-1 in their past two.

Florida Panthers v Toronto Maple Leafs

Auston Matthews racked up four points (2g, 2a) in Toronto’s meeting with the Panthers. Morgan Reilly recored four assists for the Leafs, who have won two in a row after losing four of five.

Minnesota Wild v Pittsburgh Penguins

Bryan Rust‘s two goals gave him his eighth goal in six games and helped Pittsburgh to defeat the Wild.

New Jersey Devils v Columbus Blue Jackets

Cam Atkinson‘s winning goal was his 20th of the season.

The Blue Jackets held a 2-0 lead for a little over nine minutes before Taylor Hall netted his 9th of the season and 200th career goal. In doing so not only did he give the Devils their only score of the game but he also became the third player from the 2010 draft class to hit the 200-goal mark. He joins Tyler Seguin of the Dallas Stars and Jeff Skinner of the Buffalo Sabres. He was the number one pick overall in his draft year.

Chicago Blackhawks v Dallas Stars 

5-2 

Cam Ward continues to impress in the absence of Corey Crawford, who is out with concussion. The Stanley Cup winner made 26 saves on 28 shots between the pipes for Chicago in Dallas.

Tyler Seguin scored his 11th of the season, whilst Jamie Benn recored his 14th and 15th assists this year.

Tampa Bay Lightning v Calgary Flames 

5-4 (SO) 

Tampa Bay recovered to extend their point streak to 11 with victory over the Flames.

Nikita Kucherov extended his personal point streak with another two assists, adding up to 37 total assists on the season.

Louis Domingue made 33 saves for the Bolts, including seven in overtime, to win his seventh consecutive start.

Elias Lindholm recorded his 21st assist of the season for Calgary, whilst Noah Hanifin recorded his 13th. Johnny Gaudreau scored his 16th goal of the season with two and a half minutes left in regular time, earning his side a point and forcing overtime and the eventual shootout.

Montreal Canadiens v Arizona Coyotes

2-1 

Max Domi returned to Arizona for the first time since being traded to the Canadiens. Though he didn’t register a point it was still a happy ending for the 23-year-old center. Paul Byron‘s third period goal was enough to decide the game in favor of the visitors.

Carey Price registered his 300th NHL win.

St Louis Blues v Vancouver Canucks 

1-5 

The Vancouver Canucks continued down their impressive path. Jacob Markstrom made 29 saves for his sixth straight win.

Bo Horvat and Jake Virtanen each had a goal and assist, whilst Alexander Edler had two assists for Vancouver.

On the other side of the puck, Vladimir Tarasenko scored and Jake Allen made 24 saves for the Blues, who had lost two of their previous three games coming into Thursday’s matchup.

New York Islanders v Vegas Golden Knights 

2-4 

The Vegas Golden Knights fought their way back from a 2-0 deficit with four unanswered goals to steal the victory from the New York Islanders.

Marc-Andre Fleury moved up to ninth most wins in NHL history after making 19 saves for the Knights in a 4-2 win at the T-Mobile Arena on Thursday. He’s now passed Tony Esposito with his 424th win.

Vegas scored twice in 63 seconds in the third period to take the lead. The first coming from William Karlsson and the second from Paul Stastny.

Nate Schmidt had a three point game with a goal and two assists.

Winnipeg Jets v San Jose Sharks 

5-3 

Nikolaj Ehlers scored a hat trick in the Jets’ defeat of the San Jose Sharks in California. All three goals were assisted by Blake Wheeler, whilst Mark Scheifele recored an assist on two of them, the Kitchener, Ontario native now has 27 assists this season, meanwhile Wheeler has accumulated 42.

Connor Hellebuyck made 41 saves in net for the Jets, whilst Martin Jones made 20 for the Sharks.

Evander Kane had the best night of all the Sharks players, registering two points, a goal and an assist.
