The Seattle Kraken are well on their way to being the next expansion team after making their picks known in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft.
There were a few shocks, most notably not picking Carey Price from the Montreal Canadiens or Matt Duchene from the Nashville Predators, some more obvious choices and a reunion of brothers (Haydn and Cale Fleury).
The NHL’s newest member kicked off the expansion with a number of defensive picks before choosing their three goaltenders in quick succession, all from the Eastern Conference. In total they selected three goaltenders, 12 defensemen and 15 forwards.
